Step 1: Project Management

Step1 is essentially project management. You, the communication campaign developer, must manage a number of elements including:

  • meaningful participation of key stakeholders;
  • time;
  • money and other resources;
  • data-gathering and interpretation; and
  • decision-making.

Each of these elements must be managed throughout the remaining 11 steps.

Sample Step One Project Management Worksheets - Includes 'Cadillac' and 'Ford' Scenarios - PDF - Nov 12-02
We have developed two health communication project plans, outlining all the steps necessary to plan a health communication campaign with a team. One is the 'Cadillac' or 'Gold Standard' which assumes you have plenty of time and financial resources.  We have also included a 'Ford' version for teams with less time and resources who are considering adapting existing materials for their campaign.  Approximate timelines and estimated hours necessary to complete the task are included.  The numbers may surprise you! Available in PDF and Word formats.  The Word format can be used as a modifiable template for your team.
