Description of workshop

The workshop will teach participants how to identify what type of information is helpful in understanding a given audience, how to use this information to improve program development and delivery, how to finding existing information quickly and easily, and how to acquire additional information within timelines and budgets.

Who should attend

This workshop is for practitioners who want to gather and use existing audience analysis information, and for those who want to develop some basic skills in creating original, local and current data.

Goal

To provide participants with knowledge and skills necessary for understanding and segmenting audiences in order to assist in the development of effective health communication campaigns.

Objectives

1. To provide knowledge in understanding the role of audience analysis in communication campaigns.

2. To provide a rationale for segmenting audiences.

3. To provide skills and information in identifying types and examples of research helpful in segmenting and understanding audiences.

4. To provide skills and knowledge in developing and acquiring additional information on audiences.

5. To provide skills and knowledge on how to use audience analysis research to improve program development and delivery.
