Workshop Description

This workshop provides an overview of what you to need to know to plan, design and prepare a survey--one of the primary approaches used to evaluate health promotion programs. Participants will learn when it is appropriate to conduct a survey (pros/cons), how to determine which method to use (face to face interviews, telephone interviews or mailed questionnaires), how to design and pilot-test the questionnaire (deciding on questions and layout), and how to prepare the sample (determining what and how many respondents to select).

People interested in using surveys to plan and assess the impact of health promotion initiatives

Objectives

To develop an understanding of the following survey planning, design, and preparation steps:
