Description of workshop

This one-day workshop guides participants through a practical, 'how-to' process for developing program logic models. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to develop logic models describing their own program and/or organization.

The workshop uses a mix of lectures, discussions and hands-on exercises in logic model development. A number of examples and scenarios, including actual logic models developed for health promotion programs, are used to illustrate the concepts introduced in the workshop.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is designed for health promotion practitioners who are looking for advice and guidance on the development of logic models to describe programs, clarify relationships between program components, guide planning and evaluation activities and identify performance indicators. Previous experience with the development of logic models is helpful, but not necessary. The workshop is particularly helpful for those interested in developing a logic model for a specific health promotion program.

Workshop Goal

To equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to develop logic models for their health promotion programs.

Objectives

1. To understand and appreciate the purpose and use of logic models.
2. To identify the characteristics of effective logic models (e.g., clear, concise, user-friendly).
